Aliyu Giwa has warned that adultery is a legal offense and attracts a punishment of two years in jail.
He tweeted: “Do you recognize? Adultery is against the law liable to 2 years imprisonment! The ‘PENAL CODE LAW’ part 387 & 388 state: 387. Adultery by a person 388.
“Adultery by a Woman Whoever, being a person/lady topic to any customary regulation during which extra-marital sexual inter-course is recognised as a legal offence, has sexual activity with an individual who shouldn’t be and whom he is aware of or has motive to imagine shouldn’t be his spouse/husband, such sexual activity not amounting to the offence of rape, is responsible of the offence of adultery and shall be punished with imprisonment for a time period which can prolong to 2 years or with a high-quality or with each.”
